Over the past few months, Google has given users more options to use their Meet video conferencing service. One of the latest features promised by the developers is the launch of a video conferencing service in mobile applications of the Gmail mail service on Android and iOS platforms. Now it became known about the beginning of distribution of a new function for the Gmail application on Android. It took place a week after iOS users were able to access Meet video conferencing on the Google Mail mobile app.

After updating Gmail, a separate Meet tab will appear in the application, by clicking on which users can easily join existing video conferences or create new ones. This feature will be enabled by default, but users can hide the tab if necessary by unchecking the Show Meet Tab for Video Calls checkbox in the Settings menu.

Anyone can interact with the video conferencing service, but for free users who do not have a G Suite subscription, the duration of sessions in the future will be limited to 60 minutes. At the initial stage, there will be no time limit, since it will come into force only from September 30.
