Gmail now has the ability to turn off email analysis and restrict the collection of personal data

Google is accommodating users who are worried about their personal data. Now in Gmail, Google Chat and Meet you can turn off the collection of all personal data with one button. This feature appeared in the latest versions of the aforementioned applications and services.

According to the 9to5Google portal, after all, users receive updates (they are distributed gradually – in waves), Google software will ask for permission to personalize or offer to disable it altogether. Personalization means analyzing emails that arrive in your Gmail inbox and intelligently categorizing them, as well as smart typing, quick replies, shopping cards, reservations, and calendar events. The fact is that Google uses information from Gmail, Google Chat, and Meet to increase the relevance of contextual advertising and training Google Assistant, Google Maps, and many other branded services. For example, a smart assistant can remind you of invoices issued through the mail, and maps will show you where the restaurant is from which you received a confirmation email.

However, if you disable the collection of user data, then Google services (including Gmail) will work in a limited mode. But those people who prefer privacy over functionality will clearly appreciate this opportunity.
