Google has cleaned the Play Store of apps with intrusive ads

Earlier today, Google removed 29 apps from the Play Store. They were discovered by specialists from the White Ops company, which deals with issues of Internet security. The investigation was part of an online threat scan, codenamed “CHARTREUSEBLUR”.

Some of the applications discovered by specialists disappear from the list of programs after installation on a smartphone and activation of the malicious code, while others literally bombard users with annoying ads. Interestingly enough, the blocked apps were relatively popular among users, with a total of over 3.5 million downloads.

Since the malicious actions of the programs removed from Google Play have been confirmed by Internet security experts, the search giant recommends that Android users remove them from their devices. A complete list of these applications is as follows:

  • Auto Picture Cut
  • Flash color call
  • Square Photo Blur v2.0.5
  • Square Photo Blur v7.0
  • Magic Call Flash
