Google has announced that it is opening up access to its artificial intelligence-based chatbot Bard. For now, it will be a limited edition that will be available in the UK and US. Residents of these countries can go to bard.google.com and add themselves to the waiting list.

The neural network is based on the LaMDA language model, and early tests showed that the system needs to be improved. However, the company is still ready to launch full access to the chatbot.

According to the corporation, Bard works in much the same way as other chatbots. You can formulate requests to it yourself or use hints. However, there are also differences. While the Microsoft Bing chatbot supports links to sources, Bard doesn’t have footnotes with sources of information to check the accuracy of the answer. Instead, you can look at other chatbot response options.

For now, Bard looks like something separate from the Google search engine, but this may change in the future.
