Headphones are now available in four colors and have new features
Google made a big update today for the second generation of its Pixel Buds wireless headphones.
Google has released a huge update for the Pixel Buds
First, the Pixel Buds 2 are now available in the Google Store in four color options. In addition to the white version, orange, green, and black are now available. The price has not changed, the headphones are still at $ 179.
Secondly, Google has released a major software update that adds new features to the headphones. One of the most notable innovations is the EQ adjustment with a bass boost.
Another innovation is the “translator” function in transcribe mode. Headphones can translate the interlocutor’s speech on the fly. This mode is suitable when the user does not need to answer but only listen to the speech of the interlocutor, for example, during a report. Optionally, “interpretation” can be accompanied by text on the smartphone screen for better understanding. Currently, translation from English to Spanish, French, German, and Italian is supported.
Pixel Buds also learned to recognize situations when the user gave one of the headphones to someone else for sharing. In such a situation, you can customize the sound individually.
Google is also concerned about situations where a user might miss something important in the environment. Artificial intelligence detects a number of “important” sounds in the environment. The system activates a signal for the user and mutes the music being played, for example, when a child cries, a dog barks or a siren is heard.
Other innovations include support for recording the last known location of Pixel Buds in the Find My Device service, and the ability to completely disable touch controls. You can also enable or disable touch controls through the Google Assistant. By the way, the voice assistant Google Assistant has learned to execute new commands and answer new questions, for example, inform about the charge level.
