Google Translate for Android has over 1 billion downloads

Most of Google‘s branded services and applications for accessing them are very popular among users. The main reason for this popularity lies in the fact that with enough powerful functionality, they remain free. All this fully applies to a corporate translator. More than a decade after the release of Google Translate for Android, it has surpassed 1 billion downloads from the Google Play store.

The Google Translate Android app was released in January 2010. Every year it acquired new functions, and its interface became more intuitive and convenient. Now, 11 years and 3 months after its release, the Google Translate app has surpassed the 1 billion downloads threshold on the Google Play store. It is also important to note that the application is not included in the mandatory package of Google services for Android because all downloads are made by users voluntarily. This fully testifies to the high demand for the application. By the way,  Google Translate is also available on other platforms, including iOS, where it is also trendy.

At the moment, the Google Translate application supports 109 languages, for which, in addition to the translation itself, transcription, text pronunciation, offline translation when downloading the corresponding packages, speech translation, translation of text from a photo or directly from a camera, and much more are available.
