Eight to 64 cores
AMD has already unveiled both desktop and mobile Ryzen processors based on the Zen 3 architecture. The only thing left for the company is to release the new Ryzen Threadripper and Epic servers. The latter will be discussed now.
Intel does not have such processors and will not have them yet. 13 CPU AMD Epyc options appeared
The source obtained information about 13 Epyc CPUs of the Milan generation, which should hit the market in a couple of months.
As you can see, there will be no differences from the current generation CPU in terms of the number of cores, but no one expected this. The new architecture and an increase of about 200 MHz to the frequencies will provide an impressive performance increase, as we have already seen with the Ryzen 5000.
At the same time, Intel did not directly answer such CPUs and will not because the server Ice Lake-SP will receive a maximum of either 28 or 36 cores.
