KDE Slimbook became one of the first laptops with Linux and AMD Ryzen 7 4800H

KDE has announced the third generation Slimbook, one of the first Linux laptops to feature the AMD Ryzen 7 4800H eight-core processor. This flagship chip is clocked at up to 4.2 GHz and can process up to 16 instruction streams simultaneously.

The new KDE Slimbook is offered in two versions, ProX and ProX 15, with different screen sizes. In the first case, a 14-inch display is used, and in the second, a 15.6-inch display. Both models are equipped with IPS-panel LED-backlit, providing 1080p resolution and 100-percent coverage of the sRGB color space and brightness of 300 cd / m 2.

New items received a durable magnesium alloy body with a thickness of only 20 mm. The 14-inch version of the ProX weighs just 1.1 kg, while the 15.6-inch model weighs 1.5 kg.

The volume of dual-channel DDR4 RAM (3200 MHz) of laptops is from 16 to 64 GB, the capacity of the NVMe SSD is up to 2 TB. The 14-inch KDE Slimbook ProX has a battery capacity of 47 Wh. This is enough for 5 hours of battery life. The 15.6-inch ProX 15 has a 92 Wh battery.

The connectivity of the new laptops includes three USB Type-A ports, a USB Type-C port, as well as HDMI and RJ45 connectors.

The 14-inch version of the KDE Slimbook starts at € 899, and the 15.6-inch model starts at € 929.
