The source had an official slide with the technical characteristics of the novelty. From it became known that the ThinkPad T15g Gen 1 will offer a very wide range of 10th generation Intel Core processors. The list includes the Core i5-10400H, Core i7-10750H, Core i7-10850H, Core i9-10885H models, and even the flagship Core i9-10980HK model. In addition, individual system configurations can be equipped with Intel Xeon processors – the Xeon W-10855M or Xeon W-10885M models.

Perhaps the most interesting feature of the new ThinkPad T15g Gen 1 is the choice of graphics cards. The laptop is ready to offer a discrete NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2070 Super Max-Q graphics card, or it can be equipped with a more powerful GeForce RTX 2080 Super Max-Q model. The volume of video memory in both cases will be 8 GB.

Other highlights include the ability to install up to 128GB of DDR4 memory with or without ECC and two M.2 2280 NVMe SSD slots with up to 2TB of permanent memory. There is also a 15.6-inch display with a resolution of Full HD (1920 × 1080 pixels) or UHD (3840 × 2160 pixels) and support for HDR 400 technology. Depending on the configuration, the kit will also include a power supply of 170 or 230 watts. According to the source, despite the possibility of installing GeForce RTX 2070 Super Max-Q and RTX 2080 Super Max-Q graphics cards, the new ThinkPad T15g Gen 1 also offers the choice in favor of Intel Xeon processors, usually used only in mobile workstations. Since the T15g Gen 1 uses the same chassis as the Lenovo ThinkPad P15 workstation, it is possible that the manufacturer is considering the T15g Gen 1 as a transitional model between gaming and professional systems. But how Lenovo itself views this issue – we’ll find out when the laptop will be officially presented.
