Lisa Su to Showcase New AMD Products on January 12th at CES 2021

AMD President and CEO Lisa Su will deliver the keynote speech at CES 2021 next January 12. The event will run for one hour. This was announced by the official AMD account on Twitter.

This time, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, one of the world’s largest electronics exhibitions will be held entirely in digital format. Most likely, Ms. Su’s performance will be pre-recorded. Nothing was announced about the possibility of a live broadcast.

According to forecasts, AMD may present new mobile processors of the Ryzen 5000 series as part of this presentation. As previously reported, these chips will be produced in two architectures – Zen 2 (Lucienne) and Zen 3 (Cezanne). By the way, it was at CES in January 2020 that AMD introduced a series of Ryzen 4000 Renoir mobile processors.

AMD is also expected to announce the mid-range Radeon RX 6700 series of GPU-based Navi 22 GPUs. In addition, the company may talk about high-performance multi-core Ryzen Threadripper 5000 processors, which will also be based on the Zen 3 architecture.

No less interesting would be information about the upcoming transition of AMD to the new desktop platform of the consumer segment Socket AM5. Intel and AMD are expected to begin adapting the recently introduced DDR5 memory standard for their consumer platforms soon. The latest rumors said that new processors would be needed to be able to use the new memory standard, and of course motherboards.
