MSI launches GeForce RTX 3080 and RTX 3070 SUPRIM SE – the slowest in the series

Micro-Star International (MSI) has released another version of the GeForce RTX 3080 and GeForce RTX 3070 graphics accelerators in the SUPRIM version. Externally, the new GeForce RTX 3080 SUPRIM SE and GeForce RTX 3070 SUPRIM SE are no different from the SUPRIM and SUPRIM X versions. The main differences are hidden in the frequency characteristics of the SE versions and power requirements.

MSI GeForce RTX

The GeForce RTX 3080 SUPRIM SE and GeForce RTX 3070 SUPRIM SE are the slowest in the SUPRIM series. Like other SUPRIM models, the first is equipped with three 8-pin connectors for additional power and has the same TDP value – 370 W.

The graphics chip of the GeForce RTX 3080 SUPRIM X version is factory overclocked to 1920 MHz. This work profile can be selected through MSI’s proprietary Dragon Center Center software. Out of the box, the new product offers a maximum frequency of 1905 MHz. In the SUPREME SE variant, the maximum GPU frequency is reduced to 1770 MHz. And the standard value is 1755 MHz.

The younger model GeForce RTX 3070 SUPRIM SE has reduced both the frequency and power consumption level. The latter is now 240 W, 20 W higher than the reference version, and 40 W lower than the SUPRIM X version. The maximum GPU frequency, in turn, relative to the latter, is reduced to 1785 MHz. Out of the box, the new product offers 1770 MHz.
