MSI Refreshes Slim Prestige and Modern Laptops with Intel Tiger Lake Processors

MSI has announced an update to its Prestige and Modern series of portable notebooks aimed at digital content creators. The new models are ready to offer the latest energy efficient 11th Gen Intel Tiger Lake mobile processors with integrated Intel Iris X e graphics.

The Prestige 14/15 Evo has been certified by Intel Evo to meet certain high performance and quality requirements. As a basis, laptops are ready to offer Intel Core i7 Tiger Lake processors, a 14-inch or 15.6-inch display with a resolution of up to 4K (3840 × 2160 pixels), support for up to 64 GB of DDR4-3200 RAM, and the installation of an M format drive .2 NVMe PCIe Gen4 (size not specified) Optionally, you can select the model with a discrete graphics card NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1650 With Max-Q with 4GB of GDDR6 memory. Otherwise, the graphics capabilities will be provided by the integrated graphics Intel Iris X e.

The equipment of laptops includes two Thunderbolt 4 connectors (USB 4.0 Type-C with DisplayPort alternative mode), one HDMI, two USB 3.2 Type-A, a slot for microSD cards, as well as a combined audio jack for headphones and a microphone. The new items are powered by an 80 Wh battery. It also claims support for Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.1 wireless communication standards.

MSI’s Modern 15 and Modern 14 are also ready to offer the latest energy efficient 11th Gen Intel Core i7 processors. As part of the new products, users will receive 16 GB of LPDDR4 RAM. In this case, the amount of memory can be increased up to 32 GB. For the storage subsystem, it is proposed to use an M.2 NVMe Gen 4 drive. However, the manufacturer does not indicate the available options for its volume.

Ready for graphics, a GeForce MX450 with 2GB of GDDR5 memory, or integrated Intel Iris X e graphics.

Other features include the presence of a fingerprint scanner, one Thunderbolt 4 connector (USB 4.0 Type-C with DisplayPort alternative mode), one HDMI, two USB 3.2 Type-A, support for MicroSD memory cards, as well as the presence of a combined audio jack. All of the above notebook models also offer support for Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.1 wireless data transfer standards.

The Modern and Prestige series laptops offer different body colors: Urban Silver, Pure White, Carbon Gray, Rose Pink, Blue Stone, and Beige Mousse.

The manufacturer does not indicate the price of the new laptops but reports that they will be on sale in October this year.
