MSI unveils MAG B550 Torpedo motherboard for Ryzen gaming systems

MSI has announced the MAG B550 Torpedo motherboard designed for building gaming desktops on the AMD hardware platform. The novelty is made in the ATX form factor.

It is based on the AMD B550 chipset. The Ryzen 3000 and Ryzen 4000G processors can be installed – for example, the 16-core Ryzen 9 3950X chip can be used.

There are four slots for DDR4-1866 /… / 4866 + RAM modules. Drives can be connected to six SATA 3.0 ports. In addition, there are two connectors for M.2 SSDs with PCIe 4.0 / 3.0 x4 and PCIe 3.0 x4 interface.

For discrete graphics accelerators, there is one PCIe 4.0 / 3.0 x16 and PCIe 3.0 x16 slot. Additional expansion cards can be installed in two PCIe 3.0 x1 slots.

The equipment includes a Realtek RTL8125B network controller with a bandwidth of up to 2.5 Gb / s. The audio subsystem is based on the Realtek ALC1200 7.1 codec.

The interface panel contains a PS / 2 connector for keyboard/mouse, DisplayPort and HDMI connectors for image output, USB 3.2 Gen2 10Gbps Type-A ports, USB 3.2 Gen1 5Gbps Type-A, USB 3.2 Gen2 10Gbps Type-C and USB 2.0, a network cable, and a set of audio jacks.
