MSI will only release Radeon RX 6000 cards in the Gaming series due to GPU shortage

The shortage of AMD Navi 21 GPUs that power the Radeon RX 6000 series graphics cards have forced Taiwanese manufacturer MSI to focus on just one version of the Radeon RX 6800 XT. As part of the broadcast MSI Insider, representatives of the company announced that MSI will only produce graphics accelerators of the Gaming series.

“This is a gaming graphics card from the Gaming X Trio series. For those who missed, we inform you that we will focus on producing only this design. We do not plan to release other versions, including the Supreme and “turbine” variants. At least not now. At the moment, there is a shortage of supply of components, so the best solution would be to focus on the production of one version. We’ll see how it goes in the future, “said Eric van Beurden, one of the show’s moderators and MSI’s marketing director.

During the broadcast, representatives of the company showed the new product Radeon RX 6800 XT Gaming X Trio. It was first used to demonstrate the gameplay of Cyberpunk 2077 and then disassembled to show its features.

Almost a month has passed since the release of Radeon RX 6800 video cards, but the supply of these graphics accelerators is so meagre that their launch went virtually unnoticed. AMD, for its part, does not actively communicate with the audience and does not speak about when the situation with the supply of new video cards will begin to improve. At the same time, the company recently confirmed that it will continue to release reference versions of the Radeon RX 6800, which leaves hope for the cards to appear on the market at the originally announced recommended price.

A large European retailer Pro shop, which we have already written about, recently announced the latest statistics on deliveries of Radeon RX 6000 series video cards. Out of 2513 ordered Radeon RX 6800 XT models, it received only 42 pieces, and out of 2,930 Radeon RX 6800 models, only 117. Moreover, 100 of them are reference designs. As for the flagship solution Radeon RX 6900 XT, to date, out of 354 ordered video cards, the seller has received a whole 0.

Summing up, it can be noted that the launch of the Radeon RX 6000 against the background of the start of sales of the GeForce RTX 30-series turned out to be not even “paper”, but rather just “cellulose”.
