Netflix released this Thursday, 3, a new subscription plan, with ads, which costs R$ 18.90 per month. Ads can be placed before and during the showing of movies and series. On average, each ad should last between 15 and 30 seconds per hour of display.

However, for this modality, the content catalog will be smaller. According to Greg Peters, director of Netflix, a reduction of between 5% and 10% of movies and series on the streaming platform is estimated . Those who opt for this package also cannot download the productions — a feature available in conventional subscriptions.

Only in 12 countries the feature is available. The plan arrived first for Mexico and Canada, on Tuesday 1st. Starting today, users from Germany, Australia, Brazil, South Korea, the United States, France, Italy, Japan and the United Kingdom can also access it. In Spain, the service arrives next Thursday 10.

The company recorded an increase of just over two million subscriptions in the third quarter. The company called it good news, as Netflix saw a drop in subscribers between April and June. This is an increase in new customers in Asia Pacific.

In addition to Netflix, Walt Disney also announced, in August this year, packages with advertising for streaming services Disney+, Hulu and ESPN+. Plans should be available from December 8th, but initially it will be in the US only.
