Nintendo Releases Wii U Patch – First Patch In Two Years

Nintendo has released an update for the Wii U game console. The Verge writes about it. This is the first patch for the console since 2018.

According to the description, the developers have improved the system’s stability and “made other minor improvements to the user experience” What kind of crashes happened on the console is not specified. Data miner OutmealDome also found out that the patch affected SSL certificates used to connect to secure sites.

Wii U was released in 2012 and was in production before the Nintendo Switch announcement in 2017. Many Wii U games were later ported to the Switch.

In January 2021, Netflix announced the end of support for Wii U and 3DS consoles. The streaming service will stop working on devices this summer.
