NVIDIA unveils GeForce driver with RTX 3060 Ti support and BSOD bug fixes

Following the launch of the new GeForce RTX 3060 Ti accelerator from the Ampere family, NVIDIA also introduced the latest GeForce Game Ready 457.51 driver with its support. It features Microsoft WHQL certification and also fixes some previously identified bugs.

In particular, NVIDIA engineers have eliminated the following shortcomings:

  • on accelerators with NVIDIA Ampere architecture, the system showed a blue screen when exiting sleep mode;
  • After the launch and subsequent closure of Star Wars: Squadrons, Freestyle / Ansel mode stopped working with supported games;
  • a blue screen was displayed when playing or watching a video in the Chrome browser;
  • artifacts on Lenovo Y740 laptop after waking up from sleep mode.The company’s specialists continue to work on eliminating a number of known issues:
    • stutters and delays occur when launching Steam VR games;
    • Power consumption of Ampere graphics cards increases in standby mode on systems with G-Sync monitors with high refresh rates;
    • after applying Freestyle filters, a blue screen crashes when pressing [Alt + Tab] while running Vulkan applications;
    • in Sunset Overdrive randomly appear green if the artifacts in the settings enabled depth of field;
    • the curb in Forza Motorsport 7 displays a black bar on some tracks;
    • video playback stops when scrolling down the YouTube page;
    • when the refresh rate is set above 100 Hz, the color format switches from RGB to ycbcr422;
    • Pascal laptops with a high refresh rate display randomly switch to 60Hz while gaming.

    GeForce Game Ready 456.71 WHQL is dated December 2 and can be downloaded in 64-bit versions of Windows 7 and Windows 10 for laptops and desktops from the NVIDIA website or through the GeForce Experience app. It supports video cards of the GeForce 600 family and above.
