Ryzen 5 5600X powered by ASRock X370 Taichi
At first, AMD said that the Ryzen 5000 processors are only for motherboards based on AMD X570 and B550 chipsets. Then the requirements were simplified, and the latest CPUs began to support motherboards on the X470 and B450 chipsets. As of last week, there were 227 models on different chipsets with Ryzen 5000 support, but soon there will be more, as the models on the old X370 are also compatible with Ryzen 5000!
Only AMD can do that. Ryzen 5000 processors are compatible even with motherboards based on the X370 chipset
This, of course, became possible due to the preservation of the previous socket and the release of a new BIOS version – in this case, it is the alpha version P6.61 for the ASRock X370 Taichi and Fatal1ty X370 Professional Gaming motherboards. It all came together and the Ryzen 5 5600X powered the ASRock X370 Taichi.
The firmware can already be downloaded from the website of the German retailer JZelectronic, but it is intended for testing purposes only and is not recommended for installation on end-user motherboards. Nevertheless, the fact itself is pleasing. This means that there are no special obstacles on the part of AMD to fully support the Ryzen 5000 on the 300 series chipsets, no matter what the company itself says. Now the ball is on the side of the motherboard manufacturers.
