OPPO’s square smartphone can grow in size
The Chinese company OPPO is designing a curious smartphone with a transformable design. The description of the novelty, according to the resource LetsGoDigital, is published on the website of China’s National Intellectual Property Administration (CNIPA).
We are talking about a device with a flexible display that will be pulled out of the case. Thus, owners will be able to increase the usable area of the panel if necessary – for example, to watch videos or games.
When folded, as can be seen in the illustrations, the device will have an almost square shape. The front-facing camera is not visible on the smartphone – it may be hidden directly behind the screen.
By stretching the gadget vertically, owners will be able to increase the size of the touchscreen by more than a third. The main camera is located in the upper area on the back of the case: the images show a single module, but theoretically, a system of several sensors can be located there.
Unfortunately, the technical characteristics of the unusual device have not yet been specified. It is possible that OPPO will soon show a prototype of such a device, and at the same time reveal additional details.
