PlayStation 4 is not forgotten and will not retire by Christmas

A statement was made by the head of marketing for the PlayStation Eric Lempel (Eric Lempel). He assured that the PlayStation 4 was and will remain “a big part of everything Sony does.” The company will continue to release games for this generation of the console, with “a lot more to come” for PS4 users. It is also noted that the PlayStation 4 is a product with “still a lot of life.”

Lempel hinted that The Last of Us Part II and Ghost of Tsushima will not be the last exclusives for the PlayStation 4. It was previously reported that third-party developers and studios will continue to release games for the PlayStation 4, but with the mandatory support of the PlayStation 5.

The PlayStation 5 is slated for release during the 2020 Christmas sales season.
