Recall, Returnal tells the story of a woman astronaut Selena, who falls into a time loop on an exotic planet. In order not to lose her mind, the heroine must break the vicious circle.

As it was already known, after the death of the protagonist, the world around her is rebuilt thanks to procedural generation. Now it turned out that with each death, not only the planet itself changes but also the items at the disposal of Selena.

“Each cycle offers new combinations, forcing you to step out of your comfort zone and use a different strategy each time,” promises Returnal’s description on the PlayStation website.

During her adventure, Selena will stumble upon the ruins of an ancient civilization, and to improve her own abilities she will use alien technologies.

Returnal also promises “explosive surprises”, battles in the style of bullet hell games, a variety of locations, “almost instant downloads” after death, and support for PS5 features (adaptive triggers, tactile feedback, 3D sound).

Returnal has been created exclusively for the PlayStation 5 for over three years. According to unconfirmed information, the premiere of the project is scheduled for 2021. The game has no official release date yet.
