Powerbank for electric cars: Porsche has created a mobile charging station to which you can connect up to 10 electric vehicles

German automaker Porsche has unveiled the Porsche Turbo Charging mobile charging station for electric vehicles. It can be used in regions where a full-fledged infrastructure for the transition to electric transport has not yet been prepared.

The 2.1 MWh energy storage system is capable of charging 30 electric Porsche Taycans from 0 to 100% while allowing up to 10 vehicles to be charged simultaneously, Business Insider reports.

According to the company, it already uses several similar test mobile stations across Europe and has completed about 5,000 charging operations. During the tests, the automaker tested the system under difficult conditions with extreme temperatures as low as -40 ° C. It is noted that the mobile station withstood all the loads without a significant drop in power.

The German automaker also said it has developed a Porsche Turbo Charging system for use at its annual Porsche Track Experience events. Within their framework, the company demonstrates the capabilities of new models, allowing customers to test cars on the track. The last such event took place in Budapest. According to the press release, the company could not find a suitable charging solution on-site that would meet the high requirements of Porsche, so the engineers developed their own. Together with its project partner, the German company Ads-tec, Porsche has assembled seven trucks with a charging system and a buffer energy storage.

In addition to a capacity of 3.2 MW and a volume of battery blocks up to 2.1 MWh, the manufacturer did not report anything about the specifications of the system, its characteristics, and cost. The company added that when using environmentally friendly energy sources (for example, solar energy), charging the batteries of the trailer itself takes about 4 hours.

Perhaps Porsche has no plans to sell the units to private customers and will only use it in its own projects.
