PS5 custom panel maker is back on the market and isn’t afraid of Sony’s wrath

Last October, PlateStation5 launched, offering custom PS5 body panels. A few weeks later, Sony threatened their manufacturer with a lawsuit. Even changing the name to CustomizeMyPlates didn’t help – the creator of the console simply banned the sale of attachments for his new item. However, the enthusiasts did not give up: they renamed the company to CMP Shells, entered the market, and declared that their product was legally “inviolable”.

The panel manufacturer’s official comment reads: “The patent is pending and all sales completed prior to review are inviolable. We didn’t know about it before. Now we know. Also, we have not copied anyone’s patented design. Our panels enhance the original by providing more ventilation. We will be able to continue selling even after the patent is approved

Apparently, CMP Shells has figured out how to avoid lawsuits from Sony. It implements supposedly upgraded versions of the side panels with improved ventilation. True, so far no reviews have been received from third parties about them, so it is not known whether the company’s products really affect cooling.

Now CMP Shells sells two versions of panels – matte black and the same, only with the image of the rune from the new God of War. At the same time, the manufacturer emphasized that no official logos are used on his attachments. Product price – $ 49.99.

Recall: earlier the Canadian company Dbrand began to trade in panels, which was not afraid of the threat of a lawsuit from Sony.
