PS5 version of Yakuza: Like a Dragon will not receive support for transferring saves from PS4

Following the announcement of the final release date for Yakuza: Like a Dragon, Ryu Ga Gotoku studio confirmed in its microblog a not very pleasant technical feature of the PS5 version of the game.

Recall that owners of Yakuza: Like a Dragon for PS4 will be able to get the edition for PlayStation 5 for free: this is not only a digital copy of the project but also a disk one.

As explained in Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio, Yakuza: Like a Dragon will not receive support for transferring saves from PlayStation 4. Thus, when switching to the PS5 version, players will have to start from the very beginning.

Notably, the Xbox version doesn’t have this problem. Yakuza: Like a Dragon will offer to save synchronization between two generations of Microsoft consoles – Xbox One and Xbox Series X with Xbox Series S.

It’s worth noting that Yakuza: Like a Dragon isn’t the first game to require a separate save file on PlayStation 5; this limitation will also affect buyers of Marvel’s Spider-Man: Remastered and Maneater.

Earlier, the developers revealed the relatively democratic system requirements of Yakuza: Like a Dragon and confirmed the presence of English dubbing in the game – for the first time since the debut part.

Yakuza: Like a Dragon will go on sale on November 10 this year for PC (Steam, Windows 10), PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and Xbox Series S, and will only reach PlayStation 5 on March 2, 2021.
