The 8-core Ryzen 7 7800X3D only recently went on sale, but has already become a hit in Europe… and burned out in the US. The American Reddit forum describes the first case of failure of the Ryzen 7 7800X3D: apparently, not only the processor itself failed, but also the Asus motherboard – and this is symptomatic.
The fact is that this is far from the first time that the CPU of the Ryzen 7000X3D line burns out: the flagship Ryzen 9 7950X3D has previously failed en masse . In that publication, we noted one case recorded by a repairman Viktor aka VIK-off in Russia. So at the moment in Victor’s workshop they are already talking about three such cases, and Asus motherboards appear in all of them. And now the Ryzen 7 7800X3D burned out, being installed in the Asus motherboard.
Not surprisingly, the fact that the Ryzen 7 7800X3D failed is not at all AMD, but Asus is to blame. More precisely, the VRM zone of the company’s motherboards. It is also noted that the processors burn out in one place, which corresponds to the location of the 3D V-Cache memory. Asus is clearly aware of the problem – the company recently updated the BIOS, which should fix the problem.

As for the user of the Ryzen 7 7800X3D, whose processor burned out, his story ended well: the famous YouTuber GamersNexus offered to buy both the CPU and the motherboard at the official cost. Apparently, he is going to establish the cause of the processor and socket burnout.
