Game Tuner can only be used on Android 8 Oreo
Samsung has discontinued its own Game Tuner service for fans of games on Galaxy smartphones.
Samsung has closed the service for gaming overclocking smartphones
Samsung Game Tuner was designed to improve the gaming capabilities of smartphones – to overclock the platform, increase resolution, and make some other useful changes during the game. In fact, with its help, Samsung eliminated the need to release a special gaming smartphone.
The application was last updated in December 2018. And then many useful functions disappeared from it, such as a counter for the number of frames per second.
Although the application is still listed on the Google Play and Galaxy Store, Samsung has already launched a process to destroy the service. The company began to notify Samsung Community members about the termination of the service and blocking the download of the application from April 30.
Existing users can use it for now, but this requires staying on Android 8 Oreo. Users of smartphones with One UI 2.0 / 2.1 shells are recommended to switch to Game Plugins (Additional modules for games), this is the “spiritual” successor of Samsung Game Tuner.
