Sony is preparing the flagship Xperia 1 III with Snapdragon 875 processor and 4K display
Qualcomm will host the 2020 Snapdragon Tech Summit in early December. The new flagship Snapdragon 875 chipset and a number of other products are expected to be unveiled during it. As you know, in addition to Qualcomm itself, representatives of companies producing smartphones, including Xiaomi, OnePlus, and Sony, will speak at the summit.
This indirectly confirms that these companies will be the first to present devices based on the new chip. It’s no secret that the Xiaomi Mi 11 is likely to be the first family of smartphones with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 875. OnePlus 9 is expected to launch only next March. As for Sony, it is not yet known when it will unveil its vision of the flagship smartphone. It is suggested that it will continue the corporate tradition of using Roman numerals in the name, and the next flagship will be named Xperia 1 III. In addition, the device is rumored to have a 4K display like its predecessors. Recall that the screen resolution of the Xperia 1 II is 3840 × 1644 pixels.
The current Sony flagship uses an OLED matrix with full coverage of the DCI-P3 color space, covered with a protective glass of Corning Gorilla Glass 6. The phone is based on a Snapdragon 865 chip, working in conjunction with 8 GB of RAM.
