Sony revealed all the details of the PlayStation 5: no browser, 8K may appear later, but you can connect a mouse and keyboard
The PlayStation Blog has posted a big compilation of answers to the most frequently asked questions about the PS5 from SIE Content Communications Lead Producer Sid Shuman. Fresh material has revealed a lot of important information regarding the next-generation console from Sony.
Some of the information shared by the head, we have already published in our previous news. This applies to size, price, 3D sound, which will initially only be available through headphones, and more. The most important new details are listed below:
- Only backward compatible games can be played from an external hard drive;
- New projects cannot be stored on external storage;
- 3D sound thanks to the Tempest chip is supported by all games;
- The PS5 does not have a web browser, that is, it will not work to go online from the console;
- Any compatible headphones will work for 3D sound;
- The PlayStation 5 supports the following resolutions: 720p, 1080p, 1080i, and 2160p. But 8K resolution is not available at the start of sales;
- Up to sixteen accounts can be registered on one set-top box;
- A keyboard and mouse can be connected to the PS5 via Bluetooth. But their support in games is up to the developers;
- The DualSense controller is not compatible with the PlayStation 4.
PS5 sales in Russia will start on November 19. The price of the console is 37,999 rubles. for an edition without a floppy drive and 46,990 rubles. for the version with an optical drive.
