Sony to stop production of PlayStation 4 Pro soon

The branded online store PlayStation Direct, operating in the United States, has stopped selling the PlayStation 4 Pro game consoles. According to the gaming resource VGC, the current situation hints at the imminent cessation of production of old models.

The PlayStation Direct Store was launched by Sony in the US in 2019. Through it, the company sells game consoles, accessories and games. The VGC resource drew attention to the fact that all the PS4 and PS4 Pro game consoles in it were sold out.

An official statement from the Playstation division has not yet been received. However, the PS4 Pro store page states that no new arrivals are expected for this model. Given the high demand for the next-generation PlayStation 5 consoles, the company could have come to a decision to focus on their production, the source said. In the end, at $ 400, the PS4 Pro cost the same as the diskless PS5 Digital Edition and only $ 100 less than the PS5’s diskless console.

Sony said last month that despite the pandemic, the launch of the PlayStation 5 was the largest ever launch of any PlayStation. By the way, Microsoft stopped production of its Xbox One X consoles and the digital version of the Xbox One S back in July this year.
