Square Enix: Final Fantasy VII: The First Soldier’s Battle Royale Is Designed To Attract A New Audience To The Franchise
In late February, Square Enix announced two mobile games in the Final Fantasy universe. One of them was Final Fantasy VII: The First Soldier’s battle royale. The co-director of the Final Fantasy VII remake, Tetsuya Nomura, revealed why they decided to develop it in a recent interview. According to him, the project is being created to attract a new audience to the franchise.
According to RPG Site, citing Japanese Famitsu, the executive said: “The demographics of fans of long-standing franchises are usually pretty fixed. This creates a kind of challenge for us to try to act outside of the fan group. I really want people to take an interest in the FFVII world from this game [The First Soldier], but of course, if we are going to implement it properly, there can be no half measures. We are putting in everything we can to fill the game with the right content. “
In the same interview, Tetsuya Nomura spoke about the addition with Yuffie to the PS5 version of the Final Fantasy VII remake. It will be the only supplement for the game.
