Although the automaker has received government support for its project to build a large electric vehicle plant, it has faced some challenges. It has to clear a large tract of forest in Brandenburg in preparation for the site. Local organizations concerned about environmental issues are opposed to the project.

The automaker has already cleared more than 36 hectares of land and has promised to plant three times as many trees as it will cut down throughout the process. Despite this promise, environmental groups are confident that deforestation will negatively affect the ecosystem.

In the first phase of the felling, Tesla had to move the endangered bats to continue. To date, several buildings have already been built on this site.

Last week Tesla received permission to cut another 33.5 hectares of forest to build other parts of the plant. However, the court ordered an end to the feeling after considering a lawsuit filed by the Brandenburg Conservation Union and the Green League. Note that we are talking about a temporary suspension of felling pending a final decision. According to ecologists, the lizards and snakes wintering in the forest will be harmed during the felling, so the company should have moved the animals before starting to clear the site.
