Tesla reported on its work in the third quarter of this year, which for the electric car manufacturer in many respects became a record.

It is reported that in the period from July to September inclusive, Elon Musk’s company produced 145,036 electric cars. This is one and a half times (51%) more than a year earlier when 96 155 cars were produced.

In the total volume of production, the lion’s share was made up of Model 3 and Model Y cars – 128,044 units. Another 16,992 units fell on the expensive Model S and Model X electric cars.

As for the actual deliveries, they jumped 44% year on year, reaching 139,593 units. Customers received 124,318 Model 3 and Model Y vehicles, as well as 15,275 Model S and Model X vehicles.

Thanks to record deliveries of electric vehicles, Tesla’s revenue jumped 39% year-on-year, reaching $ 8.8 billion. Operating income rose by 210%, reaching a record of $ 809 million, and net profit reached $ 331 million. For the fifth quarter in a row, Tesla is finishing without losses. Direct sales of electric vehicles brought Tesla about 91% of all revenue, or $ 7.6 billion. Over the year, the proceeds from the sale of so-called “green loans” to other automakers doubled; in the past quarter, the company gained $ 397 million in this area.

Thus, Elon Musk’s company has every chance to bring the shipments of electric cars to the symbolic mark of 500,000 units by the end of this year. To do this, Tesla needs to deliver about 181,000 cars in the current quarter.
