Both processors are compared in 3DMark
The AMD Ryzen 3 3100 and Intel Core i3-10100 processors are as similar as possible: both have four processing cores, support multithreading, and even have the same TDP level of 65 watts. Therefore, it is not surprising that they are considered the toughest competitors to each other, and even in the very popular segment of “about $ 100”. However, in terms of price, the Ryzen 3 3100 looks more attractive – it costs $ 100, while the Core i3-10100 will have to pay at least $ 120. But maybe the performance of the Core i3-10100 is higher, because the maximum frequency reaches 4.3 GHz, in contrast to 3.9 GHz for an AMD CPU?
The battle of the budget quad. Ryzen 3 3100 is not only cheaper but also faster than Core i3-10100
Alas, no. Judging by the results of the processor test in 3DMark, Ryzen 3 3100 is also preferable in terms of performance. So, in the FireStrike test, the Core i3-10100 running at the base frequency scores 11 862 points, and its competitor – 13 339 points. Approximately the same difference persists during overclocking (with the “non-overclockable” Core i3, this focus can be turned using one of the ASRock motherboards, and this was just used in the test): 13 189 points for the Core i3-10100 against 14999 points for Ryzen 3 3100.
But the performance results in the TimeSpy test: Ryzen 3 3100 – 4726 points in the katabatic state and 5293 points when overclocking to 4.4 GHz. Intel Core i3-10100 – 4882 points at the base frequency and 5213 points in overclocking. Yes, at a nominal frequency, the Ryzen 3 3100 loses here, but it is rehabilitated in overclocking.
