The distribution of Metro 2033 has started on Steam – judging by the short-term outage, it is a success
The distribution of the shooter Metro 2033 has begun on the Steam online store. This is reported on the project page. The promotion is believed to have resulted in a short-term disruption to the service.
The action began on the evening of March 11th. You can only get Metro 2033 for free, but all other games and add-ons are on sale with discounts up to 80%. For example, Metro Exodus can be purchased for $7.40.
Shortly after the start of the campaign, the service experienced a short-term but large-scale failure. The Downdetector service recorded over 28,000 complaints. Users complained about connection problems and the inability to log into the account. By the time the material was published, the store had resumed its work.
