The game Remnant II, despite its monstrously unjustified resource consumption , turned out to be very popular and successful. The authors of the project boasted that in less than a week more than 1 million copies were sold.

Thanks to everyone who helped us reach this amazing milestone, for your unwavering support. It’s been a long journey for us and we’re really happy to see that the fans are having such a great time with the game we’ve put our heart and soul into.

Remnant II has exceeded our expectations. Because this is a commercial hit, we are incredibly proud of the Gunfire team and all of the people at Gearbox Publishing who brought this game to life. As excited as we are, we are incredibly grateful to the Remnant community for supporting us and the Gunfire team during development. To the new Remnant fans who joined our community last week, we are thrilled to have you join us on this journey.

Recall that Remnant II surpasses any other existing project in terms of its resource intensity, and sometimes at times. At 4K resolution, even the GeForce RTX 4090 provides only 45 fps, and this despite the fact that the game does not have ray tracing or Lumen technology from Unreal Engine 5. To make the game workable, the developers resorted to a trick: by default, one of the supersampling technologies: DLSS, FSR or XeSS. They allow you to significantly increase performance, although the game is still quite demanding.

The recognition of the developers that they initially created the game with an eye on upscaling technology launched a wave of discontent, to the point that communities appeared on the Web calling for a boycott of the game. However, as we can see, despite the problem, gamers in general have received the game very well, which is easily explained by the fact that most ordinary players do not know about the problem and do not go into the game settings once again. In addition, few people play on consoles, where the problem is hidden.
