AMD Continues To Increase Its Market Share On Steam

The gaming service Steam published statistics on the use of hardware components in April, and almost at the same time, the large German store Mind factory released the April statistics of CPU sales. Both there, and there the data is about the same: AMD is increasing market share, and the top most popular CPUs include six- and eight-core representatives of the Ryzen 5000 line.

AMD’s share of Steam increased to 29.48% on Windows and 36.27% on Linux. The most popular AMD CPUs among enthusiasts are Ryzen 7 5800X, Ryzen 5 5600X, Ryzen 9 5900X and Ryzen 5 3600. Among the most popular Intel CPUs are the Core i5-10400F, Core i3-10100F, and Core i7-11700K.

Mindfactory statistics as a whole confirm these data. Ryzen 5 3600 had first place in sales in April. 3780 of these CPUs were sold during the month. The second and third most popular are Ryzen 7 5800X and Ryzen 5 5600X. 2560 and 1900 of them were sold, respectively.

The best Intel processor is the Core i7-10700K. It has an eighth place in the top sales – even the expensive Ryzen 9 5950X was sold almost twice as much.
