Smasher, Jackie Wells, Bestia and more: modders replace NPCs in Cyberpunk 2077 with early character skins
In January, Lea Leonowicz, Senior Artist and Concept Art Coordinator at CD Projekt RED, showed Vee and Johnny Silverhand from Cyberpunk 2077, which were not included in the final version game. And the other day, it turned out that early versions of other key characters are stored in the RPG files. The author, under the pseudonym Hineytroll, used them to replace the appearance of the NPC.
The enthusiast has discovered 320 early models of the main characters in the game. The list, for example, includes Jackie Wells, who hardly changed in the final build of Cyberpunk 2077. But Dexter Deshawn looks different – he doesn’t really look like an experienced fixer.
The screenshots published by Hineytroll also show early models of other heroes: Bestia, Placida, Kerry Euro din, and others. One of the characters is wearing the “Arasaki” uniform. Presumably, this is Adam Smasher before the cyber implants were installed.
You can download a modification from Hineytroll, which he called Ghosts of Night City, on the Nexus Mods website after preliminary authorization. Also, users will have to go to their account settings and enable the display of adult content. This is because some of the models are partially naked.
