As one Twitter user wrote, citing “a very reliable source,” the availability of Ampere graphics cards will not improve until next March. That is, the deficit will last the entire current quarter and, apparently, the entire first quarter of 2021.
Interestingly, according to rumors, Nvidia is not at fault in this situation. The first reason is the limited production of 8nm GPUs at Samsung factories. The second is … the limited volume of Micron GDDR6X memory chips.
Again, according to rumors, the situation with AMD Radeon RX 6000 graphics cards will not be better, at least at the start of sales. But after a couple of weeks, the volume of production should increase, and the deficit will be partially leveled.
