Vega 8 GPU Showcases Overclocking and Performance Wonders

The premiere of AMD Ryzen 4000G hybrid processors for desktop PCs is expected tomorrow, but now the source has shared overclocking capabilities of the Ryzen 7 4700G model. And they, admittedly, are impressive. Especially in the part that concerns the integrated graphics processor Vega 8.

The Vega 8 GPU from the Ryzen 7 4700G APU was overclocked to 2.4GHz. It approached the performance of the GeForce GTX 1050

Overclockers managed to get Ryzen 7 4700G to work at a frequency of 4.3 GHz with all active cores. As for the integrated video core Vega 8, it was possible to raise its frequency to a very high value of 2.4 GHz. And of course this affected performance. In terms of CPU, Lake i7-9900KF was ahead of the 5-GHz Lake i7-9900KF, and in terms of GPU, it was equal to the GeForce GTX 1050!

The overclockers did not provide a screenshot but reported that the overclocked Vega 8 video core in the Fire Strike test of the 3DMark benchmark is gaining 5100 points. For comparison, the result of the GeForce GTX 1050 is about 5200 points. So users who are not burdened with funds can be advised to purchase the Ryzen 7 4700G and subsequent overclocking, instead of purchasing a separate entry-level graphics card. However, here you need to remember that the performance results of the graphics subsystem strongly depend on the memory installed on the PC. In this particular case, a fast DDR4-4400 MHz was used in dual-channel mode, and this clearly affected the result.
