Twitter begins beta testing Spaces voice chats for Android users

On Thursday, the social network Twitter announced the launch of beta testing of the Spaces voice chat feature among users of devices on Android devices. This feature is already available to select iOS device owners after the closed beta testing of the product at the end of December.

The company clarified that initially, Android users will only be able to join any available chat in Spaces virtual rooms to chat but will not create their own chats. However, Twitter announced that this option would appear among users “shortly,” although it did not indicate the exact time frame.

Twitter has stepped up the expansion of the service’s voice features over the past few months. In addition to launching the Spaces platform in beta, last June, it launched the Voice Tweet feature on iOS for a limited number of users, which allows you to record and send audio messages up to 140 seconds long. Last month, the social network announced a personal voice messaging feature for iOS and Android devices in Japan, Brazil, and India.
