Video: Xbox Consoles Can Now Play Steam Games via GeForce NOW

As we wrote earlier, the Xbox testers from the alpha group got access to the updated Microsoft Edge browser on Chromium. The app is available on Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and Xbox Series S. This allows you to launch the web version of Discord in your browser and take advantage of the streaming services of Google Stadia and GeForce NOW.

GeForce NOW’s compatibility with Chromium means that Xbox consoles can play many titles on their Steam and Epic Games Store accounts, including  Cyberpunk 2077 and Ray-traced Shadow of the Tomb Raider, and Death Stranding. Other former PlayStation console exclusives such as Horizon Zero Dawn and Detroit: Become Human are currently not supported by the streaming service.

As Joe Chip noted in his video (attached above), the browser does not currently support a mouse on Xbox. But games that can be controlled with a gamepad play well on the console.

When the updated Microsoft Edge browser becomes available to all Xbox consoles, it is not reported.
