Volvo Trucks, the main truck brand of the Swedish carmaker AB Volvo, plans to sell a “full range” of electric heavy-duty trucks in Europe starting in 2021. This is stated in the company’s statement released today.

The automaker said it is currently testing the electric heavy duty trucks Volvo FH, Volvo FM and Volvo FMX, which will be used for regional transport and urban construction in Europe.
The trucks will have a gross combination weight of up to 44 tons. Depending on the configuration of the battery, the range can be up to 300 km. Sales will begin in 2021 and serial production in 2022.
The company began producing the first models of electric trucks in 2019. These were Volvo FL Electric and Volvo FE Electric, designed for urban transport and garbage collection.
