War for Alaska: HeatWave Strategy Revealed Late 2022
Polish studio Perimeter Games has announced the sandbox survival strategy game HeatWave, which will be released on PC and Nintendo Switch in the fourth quarter of 2022. In the game, Russia attacked Alaska to reclaim its once-owned lands.
The game is set in 2080 in Alaska, affected by climate change and the Russian invasion with the support of China. Due to global warming, the forces of the United States of America have left the northern territories to focus on their core areas. You will have to form a guerrilla faction, plan your actions in real-time on a macro-scale map, set destination points for your units, choose a place to build a camp, and use craft skills to make tools and weapons.
In addition, in HeatWave you have to take into account nearby villages and hostile units before deciding where to build a base. And also use the isometric view to explore the area, talk to or trade with NPCs, accept assignments, recruit new team members, or search for resources. Once you’re ready (or when you have no other choice), you will engage in turn-based battles that will determine the future of your faction and, ultimately, shape the world.
