You either pay for the video content you watch or live with advertising

Google just recently began strictly blocking users who use ad blockers to watch videos on the YouTube platform. Immediately after this, the company increased prices for the YouTube Premium paid subscription, which allows you to watch videos with disabled advertising.

YouTube increases subscription prices in many countries

The price increase affected several regions on the international stage – from Europe and the Asia-Pacific region to South America. Specifically, users in Argentina, Australia, Austria, Chile, Germany, Poland and Turkey will now have to pay more for a YouTube Premium subscription. Price increases are being seen in the YouTube Premium and YouTube Music Premium individual, family and student plans.

In Australia, for example, Google notes that this is the “first-ever price increase” for a Premium subscription, to A$16.99 ($10.94 US). Existing YouTube Premium users will see the new prices starting with their next billing cycle.
