Yuzu, Nintendo Switch Emulator for PC, Added Support for Online Features

The Nintendo Switch emulation on PC continues to improve. Now, support for online features is now available in Yuzu, an open-source portable console emulator that has been in development since 2018.

The popular Switch emulator, which is capable of running many games for this platform, now has support for online features thanks to the Raptor Network. This means that emulator users will be able to access online game features using the Raptor network instead of the Switch Online service.

The new feature is in beta testing, so the number of games with online support is very limited. Super Mario Maker 2 and Super Mario Odyssey are currently supported. The online component will allow gamers to share their achievements in games, upload their own levels, etc. Also, users can choose a nickname and a profile picture that will be used for identification in games. The ability to interact with other players and friends within supported projects is provided. For example, users can view courses that have been created by a friend in Super Mario Maker 2.

Reverse engineering new games is challenging, but the service is continually evolving, so developers can be expected to implement online functionality support in more popular Switch games in the future.
