Gigabyte first named prices for non-reference versions of Radeon RX 6800 (XT) – up to $ 899

Gigabyte held an event today, where it formally presented non-reference models of Radeon RX 6800 series video cards while informing their cost. New items were not cheap.

The flagship version of the Radeon RX 6800 XT Aorus Master is priced at $ 899, which is $ 250 higher than AMD’s recommended cost for the reference sample. The regular non-XT version received a $ 719 price tag, which is $ 140 higher than AMD’s stated MSRP.

In addition, Gigabyte announced the price of the Radeon RX 6800 XT Gaming OC model. Its manufacturer estimated at $ 849, which is $ 200 higher than the recommended cost. According to the company, deliveries of these models will begin in the near future, but the manufacturer did not specify when they will reach stores.

At the moment, none of the manufacturers has officially announced the prices for their versions of Radeon graphics accelerators based on the RDNA 2 architecture. As a rule, retail stores are behind the final cost of goods, if of course, the cards get to them. Quite unexpectedly, the recommended prices were announced by Gigabyte itself. On the one hand, this may mean that the company will try to make efforts to ensure that the prices for these new items in stores remain within the stated limits. On the other hand, questions arise about the meaning of the stated recommended prices for graphics accelerators from AMD itself.

Gigabyte has confirmed that it will also release more options for its Radeon RX 6800 series graphics cards, including liquid-cooled versions. It was also confirmed that sales of non-reference variants of the flagship model Radeon RX 6900 will begin in the near future. We recently announced one of such versions.
