Oculus Quest 2 VR headset sales higher than all previous Oculus models combined
According to the head of the augmented and virtual reality business of Facebook, Andrew Bosworth (Andrew Bosworth), sales of the virtual reality headset Oculus Quest 2 surpassed sales of all previous models of VR headsets of the company combined. Bosworth gave an extensive interview to Bloomberg. During it, journalist Emily Chang asked when VR technology will become a truly mass product.

A Facebook spokesperson did not provide specific sales figures for the Oculus Quest 2 headsets, but the sales figure is likely over one million units.
The Oculus Quest 2 is priced at $ 299, lower than the previous headset in the series but $ 100 higher than the Oculus Go model that went on sale in 2018. However, Oculus Go has not gained widespread popularity due to the lack of a built-in positioning sensor, without which most VR games do not work.
Against the original Oculus Quest model’s background, the new Quest 2 has received a significant hardware update. It uses a faster processor and higher resolution screens. Besides, it is 15 percent more compact and lighter than its predecessor. The novelty price was reduced by $ 100 due to the use of LCDs instead of OLED and a less accurate lens adjustment tool. At the end of the third fiscal quarter of last year, Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg revealed that Oculus had five times more pre-orders for the Quest 2 than the original Quest.
