But support will come later
Cyberpunk 2077, once again carried over, is known to support ray tracing. Unfortunately, at first, this technology will be available only to owners of Nvidia GeForce RTX video cards.
Owners of new Radeon RX 6000 graphics cards will not enjoy ray tracing in Cyberpunk 2077 for the first time.
Yesterday, the CD Projekt Red developers posted a ray-traced video and final extended system requirements for the game.
As you can see, in the case of ray tracing, the requirements list Nvidia video cards exclusively, starting with the younger RTX 2060, although the requirements excluding tracing include AMD adapters, including the latest Radeon RX 6800 XT.
This prompted one of the users to check with the developers for details, to which they replied that ray tracing on AMD video cards would not be available at the start of Cyberpunk 2077. Simultaneously, CD Projekt Red is working with AMD on the addition process so that support will be implemented later through the next patch.
The situation is a little strange, as in Cyberpunk 2077, ray tracing is implemented using the open XDR API from Microsoft. Apparently, either the developers need time to optimize the technology for new adapters, which is a consequence of the deal with Nvidia.
