Chrome users will be able to share links to specific parts of the text of web pages

This week Google released Chrome 90, a new version of its popular browser. Now it became known that the developers have begun to deploy an interesting function for the browser, with which users will be able to share links to selected parts of the text of web pages.

According to reports, Chrome 90 users will create links to specific parts of web pages. Google originally launched this feature as a browser extension, and now it is becoming part of the browser, so users won’t need to install any additional software.

It should be noted that in certain situations, the new function may be useful. For example, if you need to point to a certain part of the page, it is enough to select this piece of text; right-click on it and select the option “Copy link for selected” in the appeared context menu.

After that, a link to a part of the text can be sent to anyone using the available means, for example, by e-mail or via messenger. By clicking on such a link, the user will be navigated to read exactly the part of the text highlighted when the URL was created.

According to reports, the new feature has become available to a limited number of Chrome 90 users. Obviously, it will take some time before all browser users will be able to use this tool. The source notes that the ability to link to specific portions of text also rolls out to users of the Chrome browser on Android devices.
