MSI will soon start selling its debut Spatinum solid state drives

Many hardware manufacturers are starting to offer new product categories to offer the widest possible range of products to their customers. Earlier this year at CES, MSI announced plans to sell solid-state drives (SSDs) under the Platinum brand. Now, this announcement is starting to grow into details.

Initially, the company introduced only the flagship model with PCIe 4.0 x4 interface, which provides 7000 MB / s read speed and 6900 MB / s write speed. It has now become known that MSI has prepared a range of drives. Information about them was found in the database of the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC). Apparently, MSI will introduce drives that will be divided into three families.

The Platinum M400 series will include the most productive and expensive devices with the PCIe 4.0 interface, with capacities ranging from 500 GB to 2 TB. It is assumed that initially, there will be models M480, M471, and M470 with different characteristics.

The Platinum M300 series will feature mainstream PCIe 3.0 SSDs in capacities ranging from 256GB to 2TB. The first models to be expected are the M381, M380, M371, and M370. The entry-level Spatinum S200 family will offer 2.5-inch SATA SSDs in capacities ranging from 240GB to 1TB.

MSI has not yet released specifications for the new drives, but we can expect it to happen soon. The company is reportedly already offering the Spatinum M370 to retailers.
